This is very tricky to remove and requires actually getting down into the paint and then restoring the paint after it’s been removed properly. The process starts with using a steam tool to heat the surface of the paint and then work it off with a plastic razor blade. If you want to try this at home, you can use an iron and a microfiber cloth to heat up the adhesive to make it easier to remove.
Once that is done, we will use a solvent like PREP-ALL Wax & Grease Remover to remove the rest of the adhesive. Once that is completed, we move on to using a clay bar to snag and remove any leftover contaminants in the paint to ensure there are no scratches during the buffing process. Finally, we use a heavy cut foam pad and compound to remove the ghosted lettering and some final passes with a yellow polishing pad and voila! The ghosted letters are gone!
